Top 3 Highlights Of Our Stay At Indana Palace Jodhpur
#1 – The warm welcome
We had reached Indana Palace Hotel after a 6-hour-long journey from Jaipur. As soon as we sat down to check in, we were served fruit juices. The little gesture won our hearts, especially after the tiring drive under the Rajasthan sun.
#2 – The cultural show
Every evening, the hotel organizes a Rajasthani folk dance and musical performance in their sprawling central courtyard. It begins with a group of folk musicians singing melodious local songs like ‘Kesariya Balam’. They also give a Rajasthani spin to popular Bollywood songs.
When we were there, it was the season of ‘Kesariya’ from the Bollywood movie Brahmastra. The hotel guests seemed to enjoy their unique version of the song.
But what happened a few minutes later turned out to be one of my best memories from this stay.
After the vocals, folk dancers took over the stage, and pulled some of us up to groove with them!
Yeah, you guessed it right. I was among them too, trying to match their steps, but failing miserably and embarrassing myself. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed dancing to their tunes.
TWT tip: You can also request the folk singers to sing your favorite song or dedicate a special song to your loved one. However, please remember to tip them graciously as a sign of respect for the traditional art form.
Note: The performances don’t take place on days when the courtyard is booked for weddings. We were lucky to have witnessed it on our first day here. On the second day, the venue was being used for a wedding event.
#3 – The Rajasthani architecture & design
Though not an old heritage building, the recently constructed property looked like a modern haveli, featuring traditional Rajasthani jaalis, a stunning dome, and intricately designed chattris, jharokhas and arches. However, the color palette and interior design had an understated elegance.
We particularly spent some time in one of their corridor sit-outs, from where we got a mesmerizing view of the lush green courtyard and the entire inner building overlooking the Jodhpur skyline.

The Room At Indana Palace Jodhpur
Hotel Indana Palace Jodhpur houses various kinds of rooms, which includes executive & premium rooms, junior suites, suites, and a 700 sq. ft. Presidential Suite. All the rooms are designed with regal aesthetics and intricately carved furniture.
We stayed at one of the premium rooms that had a connectable door to the terrace and a private sit-out. The soft hues of the room, in light brown and white, offered a peaceful vibe.
There was a classic business table to work, besides a couch, electronic safe, an iron box and board, tea and coffee essentials, and bathrobes.
The bathroom spelled luxury, with a pristine bathtub and fragrant bubble bath bottles for a rejuvenating bath experience. There was also a hair dryer, dental kit, shower cap and all the toiletry essentials like soap, body wash and shampoo.
On a side note, Indian actress Alia Bhatt has stayed at this hotel as per the hotel’s official Instagram page.
TWT tip: When stepping out into the balconies here, try spotting Jodhpur’s majestic Mehrangarh Fort and Umaid Bhavan Palace, the iconic hotel where Priyanka Chopra hosted her wedding.
The Food At Indana Palace Jodhpur
The hotel has mainly 3 dining spaces — a multi-cuisine restaurant, an opulent bar, and a small cafe by the lobby. The restaurant’s à la carte menu, which is the same as their in-room menu, offers a huge variety of Indian and continental dishes. At the bar, you will find a classic selection of wines, champagnes and cocktails.
For breakfast buffets, the spread included salads, cereals, breads, fruits, nuts, baked goodies, dosas, idlis, puris, paranthas, baked beans, Dal Pakwaan and more.
At the dinner buffets, they had the usuals like flat breads, rice, accompanying curries, a few starters, soup, salads and dessert. For one meal, we also ordered a simple Dal Tadka, Bhendi (ladies finger) Masala and Steamed Rice from their in-room menu.
All the dishes we tasted were minimally spiced and subtly flavored, making them ideal for foreign guests and north Indians. For the south Indian palate though, the food could taste slightly bland. We also wanted to have some local Rajasthani food options, which was missing in the buffet.
Cleanliness At Indana Palace Jodhpur
The room, restaurants, lobby, courtyard and other common areas were absolutely spotless. However, the terrace was filled with dust and pigeon feathers. It looked like the staff either assumed that nobody would be interested in going there, or they tried cleaning the terrace several times and eventually gave up.
Other Amenities & Services At Indana Palace Jodhpur
The hotel houses a boutique store with lots of local souvenirs and crafts to take back home. You will also find WiFi across the property, a bar, posh billiards room, an elaborate clubhouse with a large outdoor pool, gym, concierge and a travel desk.
There’s also a luxury spa, where they offer therapeutic massages, facials and more. For events, they have large outdoor and indoor spaces.
If you’re visiting for a business meeting, Indana Palace offers a 12-seater boardroom with online conference facilities. For kids, you will find a playroom and children’s pool as well.
TWT Tip: If you’re visiting in the off season, between April and September, check their website for special summer packages. During this season, they offer free stay for kids aged under 12, besides discounts on meals, spa, etc.
Location Of Indana Palace Jodhpur
Indana Palace is located in a peaceful area called Shikargarh, just 6 minutes away from the Jodhpur airport. It won’t take you more than 20-25 minutes to reach important sightseeing landmarks such as Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhavan Palace Museum, and Jaswant Thada from the hotel. This makes it an ideal location for tourists.
Pros & Cons of Indana Palace Jodhpur
Pros, as mentioned earlier, includes the hotel’s elegant royal vibe and feel, folk dance shows, pristine rooms, gorgeous outdoor spaces and the availability of a billiards room, spa and boutique.
Among the cons, the only points I can think of are that the cleanliness in the terrace areas was not maintained, and the buffet spread didn’t have any Rajasthani delicacies. However, with enough south Indian and north Indian options, the buffet may be ideal for guests who are not into experimenting with their food.
