Sharmistha, who also happens to be our founder, has always made deep connections with places, more than people. According to Sharmistha, her most prized possessions are her travel memories and the fridge magnets she collects as souvenirs from each of her travels.

An award-winning alumna of the Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media, Sharmistha had started her career by writing for a small Hyderabad-based lifestyle magazine called Channel 6. She eventually moved on to working for major newspapers of the country, including the Times of India, The New Indian Express and DNA, in various capacities. These range from reporting, proofreading, editing, to producing front pages of newspaper & magazine editions.

After her stint as the editor of a digital media company called IncNut, where she learnt all about online content production, Sharmistha decided to apply her knowledge and skills into travel blogging. She is also a certified travel writer, trained by the bestselling author Dave Fox and award-winning sustainable travel writer Shivya Nath.

She has traveled to over 25 destinations within India so far and mainly writes experiential reviews of her vacations for The Wander Therapy. She also edits every article you see on our website and makes sure that they are easy to understand, while offering a 360 degree view of the respective destination or experience.

Sharmistha believes travel rejoices, inspires, teaches and grounds you. According to her, travel can also be a medicine for the eyes, body, mind and soul. Nothing can cure an exhausted or depressed mind more than travel.

Besides working full-time on growing The Wander Therapy, she is a doting mom of a puppy who keeps her busy. Otherwise, you might just find her sampling vegan dishes along with her husband at one of the restaurants in your city.
