When we were planning our trip to South Goa, we felt the best way to make the most of Goa’s beaches would be by staying in a beachside resort. After watching a couple of videos on YouTube, we discovered the beautiful cottages of Marron Sea View Resort. That’s it, we were sold and booked our stay immediately.
We arrived at the resort after a 2-hour drive from Candolim in North Goa. The roads leading to the resort were quite narrow and made it difficult to drive a 4-wheeler. But the moment we entered the property, checked in and walked towards the beach, it was all worth it.
Living on a beach and enjoying the endless view of the ocean from the comfort of our room felt like a dream.
Located on Palolem Beach, Canacona, Marron Sea View Resort is a lovely 3-star accommodation with wooden cottages. To know about the best parts of our stay, the room, food, and activities they offer, keep scrolling.

Top 3 Highlights Of Our Stay At The Goa Beach Resort
1. The moonlight dinner
One of the best parts about staying at Marron Sea View Resort is the moonlight dinner arranged by the beach every night, with pleasant music playing in the background.
As the sun sets, the entire place is lit up, tables are arranged, music is turned on and yummy food is served. Dining on the sand, accompanied by the tunes of the sea waves, the water hitting your feet every now and then, and the cool breeze blowing on your face is one of the most romantic experiences to have here.
Whether you are a couple, solo traveling or here with family and friends, the moonlight dinner can be an unforgettable memory for you to take back home from here.
2. The sea facing cottage
Waking up in the cottage to the sound of the waves was another beautiful experience. It felt like the ocean waves were kissing us good morning, as the birds happily chirped away in another corner.
3. The staff and their service
The staff of Marron Sea View Resort were very friendly and polite. If you’re staying for a while, you could strike up a conversation or two with them and they will tell you interesting stories from their experiences. Most of them are from the north eastern part of India and visit their hometowns when it’s off season in South Goa. They also offer a quick and flawless room service.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food at their restaurant too, but more on that later in the article.
The Room Or Cottage At Goa’s Beach Resort
Marron Sea View Resort offers wooden cottages built in between majestic Palm trees, which make for a beautiful visual setting in itself.
We were lucky to have got a sea facing cottage, which was clean, well-maintained and quite spacious. It had warm interiors and a sit-out, from where we could view the overlooking beach.
As the resort is located at the end of Palolem Beach, away from the hustle-bustle of the party hotspots, our stay was quiet and calm.
Our cottage was equipped with:
- AC
- Flat-screen TV
- A small fridge
- Fan
- Kettle
- Hot water
- Wardrobe
- Cozy bed
- Basic toiletries like soaps, shampoos, & handwash
- Laundry service
- Wifi
- Iron and ironing board (upon request)
TWT Tip: Palolem beach is known for its silent discos at night. Party goers on this beach wear headphones and dance in the midst of the tall coconut trees. You can try this as one of the activities on your trip. The staff at the resort are also kind enough to decorate your room for celebrating birthdays of loved ones.
The Food At Marron Sea View Resort
The beach view restaurant of the resort offers a whole lot of options, including Indian, Chinese, Italian and continental dishes. The food is freshly prepared on order.
The best part was that the chefs took into consideration our customization requests. We wanted to stay away from certain ingredients like vinegar, sauces and excessive masalas. They were happy to oblige and served us food just the way we liked them.
These are some of the best dishes that we had at the restaurant in Marron Sea View Resort:
Prawns Masala Curry and Garlic Naan – The Prawns Masala Curry was creamy, soft and laced with just the right amount of spices. The prawns were well cooked and tender to bite. It paired well with the buttery Garlic Naan.
Cottage Cheese Sandwich – We ordered this for breakfast and it turned out to be scrumptious, with soft cottage cheese (paneer), veggies and sauces. Just what we needed to kick start our day.
Alfredo Pasta – I like my Alfredo Pasta with a generous dripping of white sauce and broccoli. The chef made it exactly like that. It was creamy, piping hot and delectable. The accompanying Garlic Bread was soft on the inside and crisp on the outside.
Bebinca – I was keen on trying Bebinca, a traditional Goan dessert. When I ordered one at a cafe in North Goa, it turned out to be disappointing and had a foul smell. I took another chance at the resort’s restaurant and wasn’t let down. The dessert, made of coconut milk, sugar, flour, ghee (clarified butter) and egg yolk, was fluffy and perfectly sweetened with clean layers of caramel hues.
Marron Special Breakfast – This was basically a healthy plate of eggs, toasted bread, vegetables (mostly potatoes and tomatoes) and some chicken on the side. It also included a beverage of your choice. The meal was quite filling.
Goan Fish Curry With Rice – Being a seafood lover, I had always wanted to try the Goan Fish Curry. The version they served was made with spices, coconut and raw mango, which added a hint of tanginess. It paired beautifully with steamed rice.
Goan Bhaji With Poori – Don’t underestimate the power of a simple Bhaji Poori when in Goa. It can be extremely filling, tasty and affordable. After having some rich and spicy dishes in North Goa, we craved for something simple and soothing. The Poori Bhaji served here was just that.
We had about 6 meals at the restaurant and all the dishes were flavorful. Some of the other mouthwatering dishes and drinks we had here were Veg Spring Rolls, Veg Hakka Noodles, Chicken Kebabs, Veg Omelet, Virgin Mojito, Watermelon Mocktail and Fresh Orange Juice.
Note: We were at Marron Sea View Resort in October of 2021. Some names of the dishes may have been changed now. You also don’t have to worry about paying after every meal. They allow you to clear all the bills during checkout.
Price of meal at the restaurant: INR 1,200-5,000 INR, including drinks
Timings of the restaurant: 8 am to 11 pm
Activities To Enjoy Around Marron Sea View Resort
- Go for a relaxing walk at the Palolem Beach in the evenings and don’t miss the sunset here. We also clicked lots of pictures in this white sand paradise.
- Colorful hair braiding is available on Palolem Beach. We were chilling on a beach shack one afternoon and a voice from behind said, “Didi, sundar sa braid karwa lo na.” I couldn’t resist and got the colorful braid done for INR 200. It gave me that typical Goa look!
- We opted for a thrilling boat ride to Honeymoon Beach. The ride costs about INR 1000-2000 for two persons.
- You can also go swimming and paragliding at Palolem Beach and have meals at any of the beach restaurants and cafes.
- We took a scooty on rent for about 800 INR to explore the places nearby.
- You can also shop around the Palolem market for some affordable yet stylish clothes, Tibetan handicrafts, accessories made of seashells, silver jewelry and bags. You will find many cashew nut shops here as well.
Note: There are not many ATMs around the resort or Palolem beach. You might want to carry enough cash for your water rides or shopping.
Pros And Cons Of Marron Sea View Resort
When it comes to the pros, Marron Sea View Resort offers some gorgeous sea facing cottages with no hygiene complaints. You will feel like you’ve to come to another world with the sea right in front of your room. The food at the restaurant also deserves a special mention, while the moonlight dinner is the highlight at the resort.
In terms of cons, they could have provided some luxury toiletries instead of the basic ones for the price they charge. Also, they need to have an intercom. We had to go to the restaurant every time we wanted to order food. However, the overall experience made up for it.
TWT tip: We highly recommend you to carry your emergency medicines as it is difficult to spot medical shops nearby. I had a tough time looking for sanitary pads in the pharmacies.

We found that Marron Sea View Resort has many repeat visitors and for all the right reasons. We took back beautiful memories from our stay here. Everything from the vibe of the resort, the food, the view, sunrises and sunsets were incredible.
Waking up to the sound of sea waves is something I will always cherish. I must also take a moment to thank the chefs at the restaurant for customizing the dishes as per our preferences.
