Having lived in Hyderabad for the last 35 years, if I tried describing the city’s vibe in one sentence, I’d say — It’s a potpourri of cultures, with a rich heritage. Though the Nizami and Telugu traditions dominate Hyderabad’s larger geographical canvas, several other communities have settled here over the years.
While an entire colony in the city is dedicated to the Sindhis, Bengalis’ Durga Puja and Gujaratis’ Garba is celebrated with equal aplomb. In the recent decades, the IT boom has also led to a huge influx of people from around the country and the world.
For travelers, Hyderabad offers a sneak peek into this beautiful melange of cultures, delectable cuisines, and historical hotspots. So, to cater to such diverse inhabitants and global tourists, a variety of accommodations have mushroomed around the city over the years.
Having experienced a dozen of them for staycations, meals, and events, I bring you a helpful guide to the 22 best hotels, resorts and service apartments (apart-hotels) in Hyderabad, India. Whether you’re a tourist or simply looking for a weekend staycation, this list is sure to help you plan your stay. Let’s begin?

This is a service apartment I highly recommend if you’re looking for pet-friendly places to stay in Gachibowli, or are going to be in Hyderabad for more than 2-3 days. Oakwood Kapil Residence offers rooms with kitchens, a common pool, restaurant and fitness center.
My favorite memories from this stay was cooking a meal in their swanky kitchen, and enjoying the gorgeous night view of Gachibowli from their bay windows. Also, it was a delight to find marked vegan options in their food menu, which turned out to be delicious!
TWT Tip: The building has a hall on the ground floor where standup comedy shows are hosted from time to time. Enquire during your visit and enjoy some laughs, if they coincide with your stay.
We have visited Life At Prakasham twice! Because everyone in my family fell in love with the raw nature and rustic farm cottages, including my fur baby. He even thinks we own one of the cottages, although it is actually Tollywood actor Prakash Raj’s farmhouse, which he has converted into a farm resort.
Each cottage houses a dedicated porch and outdoor seating area with swings, allowing us to bask in the glory of nature. Select The Hive room if you wish to enjoy a cozy nook, village-style porch and open-to-sky bathroom with a mango tree in the centre. 🙂
TWT Tip: Since Life At Prakasham is built amidst a mango orchard, the place naturally has insects. My fur baby was bitten by an ant, which was an unpleasant experience. Thus, you might want to cover your pets’ paws with a pair of socks or shoes to prevent insect bites.
