If you ever went on a food trail in Hyderabad, you would know that the city offers innumerable local vegetarian culinary gems that go beyond Biryani

Be it the tangy Mudda Pappu Avakai (lentil-mango pickle rice), spice-laden Guthi Vankai (stuffed brinjal curry), or comfort foods such as Dosa and Bajji

Today, the city also offers international vegetarian delicacies borrowed from different parts of the world. Whether it’s a classic Italian Pizza, Arabian Falafel, Japanese Sushi or French desserts – there’s simply no dearth of pure veg restaurants in Hyderabad that serve a variety of cuisines.

Personally, I have dined at most of these eateries, and in some, even multiple times. So, from legendary names to newbies, here are our picks for the 22 top vegetarian restaurants in Hyderabad in 2025, in no particular order.

1. Almond House

vegetarian restaurants in hyderabad
Almond House, the best sweet shop and vegetarian chaat restaurant in Hyderabad

If you’re looking for hygienic veg restaurants in Hyderabad to have gourmet chaats, gelatos and Indian sweets under one roof, Almond House is the best in the city. Even your basic Pani Puri is served with unique varieties of flavored water here, while your classic Pav Bhaji gets a gourmet twist — served in the form of a fondue!

Another major aspect that sets Almond House apart from other mithai brands and restaurants in Hyderabad is their attention to detail and impeccable quality. They have UV-sterilization systems in their solar-run kitchen and packaging zones. Plus, all their kitchen staff wear disposable masks, gloves and body gowns. I’ve personally witnessed this, as they allow all visitors to tour their central kitchen in Kukatpally.

Don’t forget to sample and pick up their scrumptious low-sugar sweets, vegan ice creams made without any artificial flavors, and preservative-free namkeens and bisticks

Burma Burma, one of the best veg restaurants in Hyderabad serving Burmese cuisine

One of my absolute favorite eateries in the country, Burma Burma is on another league altogether when it comes to the best veg restaurants in Hyderabad. They serve authentic Burmese cuisine recreated for the modern diners.

On one hand, their menu can transport you to Myanmar’s Kanchin and Yangon regions, and on the other hand, the hidden undertones infused in their food pleasantly surprises your palate — creating the most unique and layered culinary experience. A huge shout out to their chef Ansab Khan and his team, who have the power to spread immense joy through their food.

I have visited the Hyderabad restaurant thrice, and their outlets in Mumbai and Bangalore as well — that’s how much I love their food. Also, the fact that they have maintained their quality for so many years is truly remarkable. Another highlight is that their menu is quite inclusive, with dishes clearly marked for Vegans, Jains and people who are allergic to gluten.

A popular chain of vegetarian restaurants from Mumbai, Oye Kake is known for their authentic Amritsari food. To my sheer delight, they recently opened an outlet in Hyderabad, catering to our collective love for Punjabi cuisine.

And, I can assure you — you won’t be able to find such fabulous Amritsari Kulcha anywhere else in Hyderabad! Oye Kake’s kulchas are a class apart – thick, flaky layers that are partly crisp on the outside, yet soft and fluffy inside. Unlike your typical white kulchas, their versions are a nice caramelized red, embellished with herbs, and smoked perfectly in their traditional tandoor ovens.

They also serve some delicious Kebabs, Chole Bhature, Lachha Parathas, Missi Roti, Naan and Pulao. We visited their kitchen and were impressed with their hygiene standards as well.
