The Best Part About Our Stay At Coorg Cliffs Resort
Undoubtedly, the most memorable moments from my stay was spending hours in the infinity pool with my best friends — sometimes chatting away, at other times just quietly soaking in the sunrises, sunsets and lush green vistas overlooking the property. It was truly magical.
Also, the high altitude of the resort (3,398 ft.) offered us a breathtaking bird’s eye view of the surrounding biodiversity and the Western Ghats — a perfect escape for the tired city dweller.

Coorg Cliffs Resort offers 8 different kinds of rooms, including a few luxury suites and rooms with valley views. Here are some of your best options:
This is where we stayed. Our first impression after entering the room was that it was very spacious with a lot of legroom. The red cedarwood furnishings combined with warm lighting added a rich and elegant charm to the room. There was a king-sized bed and small sitting area with large bay windows, which overlooked the dense plantations of the property.
The bathroom with a demarcated shower box opened up to a private dressing area that made it convenient to get ready, as we were a group of 3 girls. It also had a mini fridge, hairdryer, toiletries, caffeine essentials and of course, air conditioning. Plus, there was a little pool in between the row of this category of rooms, offering some privacy to guests.

Standard King Room With Balcony
The most affordable room in the resort and yet, it comprises a little balcony offering stunning views of the mountains, along with all the essential amenities.

The food at Coorg Cliffs Resort is special, because most of the ingredients they use are grown at their own organic farm within the property, making it truly farm-to-fork. Another important aspect is that besides a global menu, they serve local Coorgi cuisine as well, including Akki Roti, Kadambalu and coconut-based curries. It’s also a delight to dine at their restaurant covered entirely with glass on two sides, offering verdant views.
Personally, we had just 2 buffet breakfasts and 1 a-la-carte lunch here, as we were mostly sightseeing during the day. For breakfasts, I loved the fact they included specials like Palak Puris and some rare fruits, apart from the usual dosa, idli, vada and breads. And for lunch, we had ordered a simple dal with rice and ladies finger, as we had reached after a long journey. But the flavors were bang on.

Coorg Cliffs Resort offers several interesting activities and services that make your holiday all the more immersive and rejuvenating. Here are some of them:
- Plantation walks
The resort is set in the midst of a 10+ acre forest farm with a rich biodiversity, which includes a huge variety of fruit and flowering trees, organic vegetable gardens and rare exotic birds. So you can very well imagine how exciting and interesting their 1-hour-long plantation walk would be. If lucky, you can also spot little wild animals such as black-naped hare, porcupines and langurs, besides exotic fruits like mangosteen and jackfruit.
- Bonfire
In the nights, the weather used to get quite chilly, even though we were there in the month of March. So the resort’s bonfire setup was perfect to warm off a bit, while some lively music got the crowds dancing around it.
- Private candle-light dinner
If you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply wish to surprise your partner, the staff can organize a private 5-course meal in the garden or pool area for an additional fee. They usually include a cake as well as wine.
- Adventure activities
For the adventure enthusiasts, Coorg Cliffs Resort offers a session of ziplining and a variety of rope activities under the guidance of an instructor. They also provide safety gear.
- Infinity pool
I’ve already mentioned enough about the infinity pool in this article. So I’ll just say that a dip in it is a must-try activity here. It’s attached to a small kids’ pool as well, if you’re visiting with family. The pool is open from 8 am to 6 pm.

You can also explore this massive property on bicycles kept exclusively for guests. They also offer cycling helmets for safety reasons.

Cleanliness At Coorg Cliffs Resort
The resort actually takes great care of cleanliness. I remember how the swimming pools were regularly cleaned using ozonized filtration technique and the fact that they don’t use chlorine in their pool impressed us.
Even the rooms and common areas were quite well-maintained. However, we did see insects sometimes, which is natural for a resort that’s set in the midst of a wild forest.
Location Of Coorg Cliffs Resort
Coorg Cliffs is actually quite far away from the main bus stand and market area of Coorg. Commuting from here to the resort took us around an hour. However, we didn’t mind the traveling as the views from the property were surreal. Also, we had hired a taxi from Bangalore that was available for us throughout the trip. But in case you don’t have a vehicle with you, you can request the resort staff to arrange one for you.
Pros & Cons Of Coorg Cliffs Resort
Pros
Pros of stay at Coorg Cliffs Resort were many, including the infinity pool with gorgeous views, well-designed & spacious rooms, farm-to-plate food as well as the activities, which included plantation walks, bonfire, cycling and adventure activities.
Cons
The only con was that room service was quite slow, as the rooms are at quite a distance from the reception. Some people might find the distance from Madikeri market also to be an issue.

By the end of our stay at Coorg Cliffs, we remember coming out thoroughly rejuvenated — both mentally and physically. Everything from the early morning walks in the resort amidst mist-covered trees, to the swim in their beautiful infinity pool were calming and therapeutic. The luxurious room, farm-to-plate food, and immersive activities added to the memorable experience. Would we stay here if we visited Coorg again? Surely, we would.
