Though many tourists prefer staying in homestays here, I highly recommend Hotel Aadrika, if you’re someone like me who has a phobia for creepy crawlies. Yes, rooms at coffee plantation stays often invite rodents. That’s why we chose a modern hotel for our stay in Chikmagalur.

Best Parts About Hotel Aadrika Chikmagalur
# Proximity to taxi stand
The location of Hotel Aadrika makes it an ideal stay for tourists, as it’s situated in the main market area — right next to an auto and taxi stand. It’s also in close proximity to the shopping spots. So, when we wanted to go sightseeing, we simply had to come out of our gate and hop on to a taxi. We could also step out and explore the locality on foot to make our coffee purchases.
# Serene views
Whenever we opened our room’s curtains, we were treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and their landscaped lawn below. Breakfasts were especially memorable, as we could have our morning coffee while enjoying the sight of the sun rise from the valleys through their top floor restaurant’s bay windows.
# Hygienic hotel with no insects
The most important aspect for me and many tourists is the cleanliness aspect. And Hotel Aadrika scores full points for maintaining a spick and span space with shiny surfaces that exuded minimalistic luxury at an affordable price. Luckily, I also didn’t find any creepy crawlies during my 2-day stay here, which was a huge relief for me.
The Room At Hotel Aadrika Chikmagalur
Hotel Aadrika houses a variety of large and spacious rooms, including interconnected rooms for families and friends, rooms designed for specially-abled guests, as well as rooms with private balconies for the best views.
The room we stayed in was unpretentious and comfortable, with sleek and modern furnishings. The white walls were accentuated with dark wood furnishings and warm lighting casting a soft glow.
Besides a cozy bed, there was a little work desk and dining table ideal for two people, a television, wardrobe and caffeine essentials. The bathroom had the essential toiletries along with a demarcated shower area.
However, the best parts of the room were the cleanliness and the beautiful vistas visible from the windows.
The Food At Hotel Aadrika Chikmagalur
You will find two restaurants and a cafe in Hotel Aadrika, with one of them (called Vivikta) serving pure vegetarian food. The breakfast buffet (with many Indian and global options) was organized at Zesto, located on the top floor with stunning views of the hills. Here are the dishes from our a-la-carte orders that we thoroughly enjoyed:
Vivikta restaurant
- Poori: It was fluffy and perfectly puffed up, with soft & crisp textures in parts.
- Brinjal Alu Curry: This one had a coconut & green chili based gravy that paired perfectly with the pooris.
- Dal Tadka: It was simple yet delicious with subtly flavored spices that offered comfort with steamed rice.
Zesto restaurant
- Bhendi Gojju: The melt-in-mouth ladies fingers in a tomato-based gravy waa spot on!
- Akki Roti: These healthy rice flour rotis, which are a staple in Karnataka, were soft and distinct.
- Kadambalu: Another Karnataka delicacy, the soft & steamed rice flour balls teamed just right with the curries.
- Mushroom curry: Made in the local style, it had a coconut-based gravy that was spiced to perfection.
