As we left behind the honking traffic and concrete jungles of Hyderabad city, and drove past the narrow lanes leading to Life At Prakasham, our jaws dropped! We had entered a lush green, dense mango orchard where we could clearly hear the umpteen musical notes of chirping birds.
The trees at the farm stay were planted so close to each other, that there was hardly any space for harsh sunlight to pass through. There were no manicured gardens too, unlike regular resorts. All we could see was raw nature and abundant tranquility, offering the perfect opportunity for a refreshing digital detox.
Life At Prakasham is a pet-friendly and eco-friendly farm stay in Hyderabad outskirts, started by Tollywood actor Prakash Raj. It has become a popular staycation spot for locals seeking some green therapy, and my family already visited it twice for short weekend getaways from Hyderabad.
Now, let me take you through our stay experience at Life At Prakasham Hyderabad, the kind of rooms and food they have on offer, activities at the nature resort and more. Let’s begin?

Top 3 Highlights Of Our Stay At Life At Prakasham Hyderabad
# Our fur baby’s fun outing
Our most memorable moments from the stay here was to watch our puppy have the time of his life hopping on the unkempt green pastures. He swayed happily sitting on the swing outside our room and barked away at passersby, probably because he thought we owned the room. So, the fact that they allow pets was the best part of this stay for us.
# Beautiful outdoor spaces
The other best part about Life At Prakasham Hyderabad were its outdoor spaces, including the ones attached to the rooms. Each room had a serene sitout, either in the form of a porch or balcony, from where we could soak in the beauty of the trees adorned with blooming flowers and seasonal fruits. There was a hammock next to a lotus pond, where I sat and just stared at the sky for a while. Naturally, we were drawn to spend most of our time in these spaces.
# Interesting dining experience
The next highlight has to be the dining experience, as Life At Prakasham Hyderabad offers delicious and organic buffet meals in their earthy, alfresco restaurant. The outdoor seating in the midst of greenery further added a touch of warmth to our food. Plus, the variety and simplicity bowled us over. But, more on the food in the upcoming sections.
TWT Trivia: The owner, Mr. Prakash Raj, uses a part of the resort as his farm house and was present during our second visit. As we passed by his room, he didn’t hesitate to wave his hands to say a warm hello.
The Room At Life At Prakasham Hyderabad
Life At Prakasham Hyderabad offers 8 types of air-conditioned cottages with various capacities for both small and large groups. They seamlessly blend with the natural tapestry of the place, some almost hidden behind the lush foliage.
Each cottage is built like an individual farm house itself, with their own private verandah, swings and sitouts. Their mud, brick and cement hues add a rustic, earthy appeal that are reminiscent of village homes.
We stayed at the Hive room & Red Zen Den during our 2 visits. Here are the details of our experience in each of them:
Hive room
These twin rooms are housed in a 2-tier building with a staircase connecting them from the outside. It turned out to be perfect for our family outing as my parents occupied the ground floor room while my husband and I took the upper level room. Our puppy baby switched between both rooms as per his mood.
Both rooms boasted a very unique design, but the bottom level room was simply stunning. Its ceiling featured a honeycomb-like design created with mud pots, which doubled up as a cooling agent for the room! Plus, we absolutely loved the cozy window nook arranged with colorful cushions. All five of us snuggled up in this space to chat while watching the lush views from the window.
Other highlights of this room were an open-roof bathroom with a mango tree in the center, and a scenic front yard with a traditional sitout and pebbled pathway. The top floor room also featured a traditional Indian aesthetic with views of sprawling forests.
Zen Den
We stayed in this room during our second visit and created a fresh set of memories in their beautiful porch, which had a swing this time. The interiors were more minimalistic, with the bed interestingly placed on a carved floor-level platform, along with an extra single cot.
The floor-level bed added a touch of old-world village-like charm to the room. Both interiors and the outdoor space felt like a perfect space for meditation as well.
This particular room is also part of a 2-storey structure with a staircase outside.
Note: None of the rooms have televisions and they do not offer room service. Glass water bottles are neatly placed in each room that can be refilled wherever needed.
Did you know?
All the cottages in Life At Prakasham run on renewable solar power and they don’t use any plastic bottles in the premises, making them a great choice for a sustainable vacation.
The Food At Life At Prakasham Hyderabad
When you book a room at Life At Prakasham Hyderabad, the food is part of the all-inclusive booking, which includes 4 meals in a day.
As I briefly mentioned in the highlights sections, their food makes the experience all the more earthy, organic yet delicious! A majority of the food served is vegetarian with many naturally vegan and gluten-free options. During dinner, Chinese food and barbecued starters are also offered.
Here is what we were served during our two stays:
Breakfast
The breakfast buffet usually included fruits, cornflakes, bread, poori or paratha, potato or chole curry, idlis and upma/poha. But the highlight were their delicious chutneys, including a flavorful cabbage chutney, and their live dosas prepared under a tree. We especially loved the masala dosa filled with a soft and delectable potato mash.
Lunch
In the lunch buffet, there were Indian delicacies like rasam, white rice, roti, dal, salad and 2 curries. The taste of all the dishes were quite homely and simple, yet flavored perfectly.
Evening snacks
Every evening, they set up a quirky tea cart where they also served sandwiches and a fried snack such as Onion Bajji, Palak Pakoda or French Fries. Cooked just right, the fried fritters were crispy and not too oily.
Dinner
Dinners at Life At Prakasham Hyderabad are a grand affair with Chinese and barbecued appetizers being served from 7:30 PM in their second restaurant that overlooks the pond.
Decorated with string lights on the multi-level flooring, the ambience acts as the perfect setting to enjoy the crunchy bites like Tempura Vegetables, Manchurian and Chilli Potato, glazed beautifully with soy sauce.
Then the main course continues in their primary restaurant with the Indian buffet spread being accompanied with a Chinese dish like Noodles or Fried Rice, all cooked to perfection.

Location Of Life At Prakasham Hyderabad
Life At Prakasham is situated in Shadnagar’s Kammadanam Village, around 60 km away from Hyderabad city center. It took us just 50-60 minutes to reach the nature resort from Nallagandla, via Nehru Outer Ring Road.
Pros & Cons Of Life At Prakasham Hyderabad
Most pros of the resort have already been established in the article, which includes raw natural surroundings, thoughtfully-designed sitout spaces, fresh and organic food, fun activities, and pet-friendly feature.
The only con was that they don’t offer room service. All guests need to walk up to the dining area for every basic need like water and food.
Another con was the presence of insects such as bees, which can be scary for people with kids and pets. On one of the visits, my fur baby was bitten by an ant and he was jumping in pain for a while.
However, since it’s a farm fully surrounded by trees and plants all around, there is nothing that can be done about the insects who coexist on the land.
TWT Tip: We highly recommend that you keep your pets’ feet covered with socks or shoes so that they don’t end up stepping on unwanted insects.
TWT Experience Summary Of Life At Prakasham Hyderabad
Despite the absence of room service, we would still visit Life At Prakasham Hyderabad again for its incredible natural beauty, smartly-designed farm cottages, organic food and interesting activities they offer, especially the fun tractor ride.
Most importantly, we found ourselves lost in their outdoor sitout spaces that meld in beautifully with the raw greenery of the resort. After both our visits, we remember coming back home completely refreshed and rejuvenated.
So, do we recommend this resort highly? If you are living in a city, we certainly do!
