However, if you are looking for a more peaceful and pocket-friendly experience, you might want to consider visiting during the shoulder seasons of October and March. The weather is still pleasant, and you can enjoy relatively lower hotel rates and fewer crowds. During April and May, Goa can be unbearably sultry.
In case you don’t mind the heat and humidity, the monsoon season from June to September can be a unique time to visit Goa. Hands down, this hidden beach is my favorite in Goa! Not many people know about this paradise and thus, you will have the much-needed seclusion. Also known as Khola Beach, it is popular for its exceptional beauty and serene calmness. The sparkling sand and coconut groves provide a refreshingly tranquil atmosphere.
The most distinctive feature of this beach is its freshwater lagoon, which is called Blue Lagoon or Emerald Lagoon. On the seaside, this freshwater lagoon is connected to the sea. You can spend an entire day at this lagoon as its warm waters are perfect for swimming. You can choose to float for hours.
TWT Trivia: Unlike the salty water of the beach, the lagoon has freshwater. So it doesn’t hurt your throat, in case you swallow some water accidentally.
Cola Beach is accessible from Agonda Beach or Palolem Beach by car. Private transportation is the only option to get there. However, the beach is not directly connected to any paved road. To reach Cola Beach, you must travel about 1.5 to 2 kilometers along a dirt road from the main road.
TWT Tip: Cola and Colva beaches are two distinct and separate beaches. Just in case you are confused between the two, they are located one hour away from each other.
Ashwem Beach
